Christala is faith based. She discovered an interest in engaging in healthier habits as a young athlete and her interest and love for serving the community was groomed by her parents, and community mentors and other role models. She has continued to learn and expand her interest in various cultures and populations. She enjoys working with all age populations. Christala is dual board certified psychiatric mental health and family nurse practitioner. She has a broad background, close to 29 years of nursing experience, close to 19 of those as a nurse practitioner working in various settings and with a variety of populations of adolescents and adults. Christala obtained her undergraduate degrees from Richard Stockton State College, Durham Technical Community College, and North Carolina Central University. She obtained her Masters Degree in Nursing from Rutgers University and post graduate certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Monmouth University. She is licensed to practice in the state of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She is currently enrolled as student with American Academy of Functional Health. Her approaches to treatment are evidence-based, including both pharmaceutical and nutraceutical therapies, considering nutrition, lifestyle, spiritual and cultural factors. She provides free consultations, psychiatric evaluations, and as appropriate, medication management and supportive therapies in treatment. When Christala is not serving in her role, she enjoys spending time with family, family pets, and friends, international and domestic traveling, cruising, gardening, cooking, reading, exercising, attending a concert, or a show.
